A Day To Remember

So Tuesday was a big day for Robert and I. I apologize for not posting about it until now, and even at this moment I don't have any pictures ready to share this event (mostly because I'm writing this at work, oops hehe). Not ONLY were we closing on our house on Tuesday, but that date April 27th represents 8 years together! Yes, 8 years ago Tuesday we were going to prom as our very first date. We woke up Tuesday morning and went to IHOP before heading to the abstract office and had so much fun laughing about fun memories we remember such as the progressive dinner we had with all our friends, how we held hands the first time at the dance, played basketball in our fancy clothes, and ended the night with our first kiss. I'll never forget that first date!

And so now we have officially closed on the house, we have all the keys on our key rings, and are conducting a very thorough cleaning job before moving our stuff in... will have pictures soon!

Thank you Robert for 8 amazing years!

A Few Surprises

So sorry I've been away...I haven't been on my computer very much due to finally getting over the sickness, catching up at work, and getting some things done for church. But yay I have a few minutes to sit down and share with you all whats been happening!
First of all, my sister-in-law had a birthday last week!
Some of the teens from our youth group gave us this awesome Big Cupcake Cake making kit and I thought I would try it out for her. She loves Strawberry shortcake so I made a vanilla cake with vanilla icing filled with strawberries and coolwhip. See for yourself!

I think she liked it! In fact all the people at Abuelos kept staring at our oversized cupcake :)
I just love her!

Second, We are having some changes at work and are moving our offices upstairs to provide more rooms for treatment downstairs, so we have been busy preparing for that.

Third, I experienced the world of the MRI machine last weekend. I've had problems with my hips for the past 2 years and have finally found an orthopedic surgeon that I didn't mind going he ordered an MRI. Its kinda weird b/c you have to lie very still for 30-45 minutes like a torpedo in a tube...I definitely fell asleep and kept waking up worried that i had moved during my random dreams... we'll find out the results in the next 2 weeks!

And Lastly...
We Bought A House :)

We close on Tuesday and move in afterwards! I'll be posting more on this soon!
Have a great week everyone!

An Ear Full

So, last Thursday I went home from work for a fever...still had it on Friday...was feeling great Saturday morning and then was out in the wind (yes I mentioned this in my last blog, but I'm getting to the new part)...caught laryngitis on Saturday which was still there through Monday...then during my last hour of work my ear felt like it was going to explode... so I had our audiologist at work look at it on Tuesday morning and she pretty much silently freaked out and suggested I get to a doctor asap. So I go to a doc-in-the-box place around the corner from my work where I'm given some pretty strong antibiotics and sent on my way...I somehow make it through the rest of the day at work and church with the most severe ear ache I've ever had... and the story gets better...

Wednesday I woke up feeling aweful, my ear hurt, my eye was draining (eww I know its gross), and I was so tired I just couldn't imagine that my body was able to fight off whatever infection was attacking me... but of course I went to work anyway and about fell out of my chair the whole morning due to severe dizziness (thanks to my inner ear now being full of fluid and gunk). I ended up going home Wednesday afternoon to rest and to save myself from falling on the floor during a treatment with a child.

So Thursday comes around and I had to be at work since my colleagues were all going to be gone for previous engagements which meant I had to be on my game... and the dizziness was worse. I was holding on to the walls and equipment, resting my head on my desk, and I even took a nap during lunch because my body was in rejection of staying awake... BUT I made it through the day and although Friday wasn't too much better I ended up surviving into the weekend.

Now my ear infection is gone, but I still have limited hearing in that ear due to the continued pressence of pressure and fluid... and to top it all off I went to an orthopedic specialist today to have a look at my hips which have bothered me for the past 2 years... I think I'm all doctored out.

I hope all of you are well and healthy!

A Speechless Easter Celebration

So Thursday at work I for the second time starting this job got a fever... or better yet, I got sent home for my fever (like I was in elementary school or something) fever lasted until Friday and then Saturday I was feeling pretty good. Except that it was so windy that I caught some allergies and of course...Sunday comes and I have laryngitis. I wasn't able to go to church or sing my favorite songs which was sad... but regardless I was still able to enjoy some fun Easter celebrations.

The Gathering Easter cookout (it was so in the wind that brought on the allergies)
But it was so much fun!

I'm pretty sure we had over 1300 eggs out in that park...

Easter afternoon with my family.

Isn't his Easter basket cute! My Sister in law's sister made it (got it right?)
This was taken by my sister earlier that day...check out those expressions!

Talk about just good ole fun with family and friends to celebrate the greatest thing Christ did for us! And I didn't eat too much candy :)
