Pour Out My Soul for 2010

I was challenged to do this by a blogging friend and so I will challenge my readers to the same. I added a line or two at the bottom, feel free to add one yourself!
Let me know when you post yours!

I AM...a beautiful child of God!

I have whiter teeth

I HAVE...The most supportive and God-fearing Husband in the world...and he's all mine :)

I KEEP...M&Ms somewhere in the house at all times :)

I WISH I more creative sometimes

I FEAR... noises in the dark...and that not all my friends are going to Heaven

I HEAR...the smallest sounds that no one else seems to hear

I DON"T THINK... before I talk sometimes

I REGRET...not keeping in touch with friends as much as I should

I LOVE...worshiping God (even in multilanguages :)

I AM NOT...Perfect

I DANCE...every morning in front of my mirror (after Robert leaves for work :)

I SING...As often as I can and to everything

I NEVER...want to run a marathon

I CRY WHEN I WATCH...someone accept Christ

I AM NOT ALWAYS...a sane person...or a good cook

I HATE hips always hurt

I'M CONFUSED someone could not accept the free and deep love of Christ

I NEED...anti-anxiety pills sometimes

I SHOULD...try and lose some weight (but those M&Ms...hmm)

I water my plant

I DREAM TO... one day write a book (or I should say finish writing a book, I have already strated)

I AM...going to make the most of 2010

Christmas with a capital "C"

Well Christmas was great! A good time with family and friends, kids (young and old), and a new baby nephew!

The fam... note how Robert randomly acquired some glasses for this shot...

I made him take them off for this picture :)

Me with MB and her new tutu which I made for all the nieces... it was easy and fun (although I have that material all over our house now)

A sporting her new tutu! (I love this picture)

MJ so excited to have her pretty tutu!

The new little guy...JA
He was only 8 days old here!

And then of course I thought I was taking a picture but ended up with a fun video so I thought I would share: It's called Christmas with a Capital "C"
(p.s. ignore my voice in the background, I think I sound weird on videos)

Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year!

I can't wait to upload photos from Christmas and to share in all the exciting things happening in 2010!We have had lots of celebrations (one more tonight), seen family from afar, baked and ate alot of banana pudding and treats, and been surrounded by lots of smiles (and little smiles :)

Enjoy the holidays!

I ate alot of candy today :)

So having Christmas deliciousness in our house is not a good thing right now because whilst trying to study for this looming test I get very bored... and bored equals eating M&Ms, brownies, rice krispie treats, cookies, and lots of Christmas candy. Well after reading that sentence again, I want to take back the "not a good thing" statement because I love Christmas candy! Especially those red and green M&Ms... oh how they call to me from their two bowls (yes two bowls in this house... it wouldn't be right to have just one bowl of M&Ms).

But I will say my house is not conducive to the person who likes to make frequent trips to the kitchen... you really have to work for it... meaning the stairs. I've been good enough to study at our desk upstairs instead of on the couch or on my bed where sleeping would for sure come upon me... and if I do get a sweet tooth craving I have to weigh the pros and cons of walking all the way down our narrow staircase and then back up it just for a bite of something yummy. The only problem is... those Pros sure do win a lot :) But I look at it as I am giving my mind short breaks and the sugar helps keep me going. Makes sense to me! And the more M&Ms I keep around, the less I bite my nails... yes this habit is still going strong for me (and Robert), but its more pronounced now that I have nothing to do but sit around and read this obnoxious review and study guide. But on the bright side... studying is going very well and I am preparing for a January testing time so this can all be over (and I can start working!). Just have to make it through the holidays and try to get as much done as I can along with all the yuletide cheering I will be doing.

Good thing I have another bag of M&Ms hidden in the kitchen... because the bowls are getting low :)

Where oh where did December go?

Well to all you last minute Christmas shoppers out there all I can say is... I'm done! And so glad! My mom and I braved the psycho world of Midland mall and shops yesterday so I could assist her in getting her shopping done. It was crazy. With 4 trips to my car to drop off sacks, scouring the crowds for my short mother (who gets lost pretty easily when she is entangled in shopping racks at Dillards), dropping multiple (unbreakable) things on the floor, and a much needed trip to Starbucks... it was a full day. I'm glad I could help her though b/c if you know her you know that there is no way this one armed, short precious woman could tackle the masses and carry all her stuff by herself. Oh she finds a way sometimes, but I mean she bought alot yesterday. Just call me her movable shopping cart :)

But along our shopping journey, we decided to be as positive as we could be to all the bugg-eyed employees who looked extremely overstressed for this season. My goal was to say Merry Christmas (a phrase not used much in this season of... oh yes... Christmas) to as many people as I could (without being creepy). I was happy to hear my words echoed back to me by most people, while others simply smiled and replied "Happy Holidays". How sad that Christ's birthday is nothing more than a fad shopping holiday to some people. Yes, we need prayer for our world.

But anyways, I was realizing that December is seriously almost over, and I'm not sure if I'm ready for 2010. Yes, the looming doom of my licensure test to be taken in January is there, but am I really ready to be in independent physical therapist, on my own... The answer. With God by my side... yes.

What can you accomplish in 2010 (with God by your side)?

And dear December, please slow down a little bit, I have lots of things coming up I would like to enjoy with family/friends. No need to rush :)

Goodbye Student...Hello Doctor

If this isn't your first time to tune into my blog you will know that this event has been coming for awhile. And I don't want to put to much emphasis on this day, but I never really imagined that I would have gotten to this point in my life... and yet its here and passed. I am now a Physical Therapist. No more student tacked onto my name, no more having to be supervised... I am done with school (forever I promise) and I can wave that funny square hat in the air with pride. I graduated Saturday from Hardin Simmons University with my Doctorate in PT. Thanks be to the Lord for I would not have made it without Him.

We got to be "hooded" which was exciting and choking at the same time :)
I'm glad school is over, but I appreciate the hard work and all the people it put in my path because it has helped shape who I am today. Thank you to everyone for your prayers, tears, and joys... I couldn't have done this on my own.

This is hard to see, but very representative of our class... everyone looking off in some random direction, but still very professional. I'll miss you guys!

All I have now is to take the national licensing test to be an official PT (yes I know its always one more thing isn't it...) But with one good month or so of studying (and lots of prayer) I should be able to survive. Thanks again and now its time to enjoy the holidays!!

Can you believe it?

Its already December...and graduation is only 9 days away...and Robert and I have been living in the same town (and same house) for 4 months now...and we have the most awesome 2 nephews, 3 nieces, and another one on the way...and I'll start my first job as a PT (and as Dr. Fowler) in a month...and God is so amazing...and 2009 has just flown by...and Robert and I have been married 2.5 years (and their the best years of my life!)... and how weird will it be to say 2010...and I couldn't be more blessed than right now!

Can you believe it?

p.s. I will post pics of our Christmas happy home as soon as I remember to find my camera battery :)

A Thanksgiving Adventure

So for Thanksgiving every other year my family goes to Dallas for a family reunion. Its basically alot of family in one place, some great food, and football galore...which equals a very nice holiday. Of course the last reunion we missed due to the passing of my grandfather, but this year we were able to make the trip. We had a few interesting moments along the way that of course I will share:

It's good to have a big family.
On our way (as in the caravan of multiple family members vehicles all spaced out on I-20), there so happened to be a traffic jam around Granger, TX where 2 lanes merged to 1. My uncle was about 45 minute ahead of us (being Rob and myself, my parents, and my brother and sister in our own cars) and he informed us about the said traffic jam and to take the service road when we got close. I took his advice and happily zoomed (at the speed limit of course :) past all the people...including my cousin...stuck in the jam. When we finally merged back onto I-20 we had bipassed about 45min-1 hour of the traffic. It was awesome. Of course my parents and brother were not so good at following directions and they got stuck in the jam... arriving at our hotel in Dallas 1 hour behind us. Service road is the way to go! Thanks to my Uncle for making the right call :)

Holiday theft is no fun.
Whilst having our Thanksgiving lunch at the hotel with my many relatives, someone decided it was prime time to break into my parents vehicle...destroying the doorhandles and stealing almost everything. Luckily they left my niece and nephew's car seats b/c it would have been difficult driving back and those are expensive. But yes, they got off with some good things...and the worst part is the hotel had no surveillance cameras anywhere... we will never stay at the Radisson in Irving ever again.

Black Friday...of course.
My sister and I have been looking forward to Dallas for one thing... shopping at places we don't have normally! So, yes I was a black friday participant. At 6am my husband, my mom, and myself ventured into Target to take advantage of the nice doorbuster sales they were having. We even managed to snatch a nice new LG Plasma tv for a great price :) Robert was happy about that one. Then we went back to the hotel, picked up the rest of the crew, and drove to the Grapevine Mills Mall... love that place. Yes it was crowded, but it could have been alot worse, and we knocked out alot of Christmas shopping... so I say job well done!

Friends are Great.
To finish off the weekend Rob and I stayed with my friends Ashley and Douglas who live in Northeast Dallas. We would have stayed till Sunday, but I got sick again (which really needs to stop happening) so we ended up leaving a day early...but whilst we were there we got to hang out at Ashley's parents house (who I stayed with on one of my rotations, so we are like family really), watched a very interesting small town Christmas tree lighting ceremony, and ate yummy burgers. Its always good to see friends and I can't wait to be officially done with school and hopefully have time to visit more friends :)

Hope your Thanksgiving was fun and full of goodness! This is my last week of my rotation... ever!

Thankful for Memories

I had to track down some baby photos of myself for my graduation and I just couldn't help but be thankful for all the memories I have with my brother growing up. Although when I was brought home from the hospital my brother did ask if he could keep me in a drawer... I love him all the same! The same goes for all my family... lets be thankful for memories!

Aren't we cute?

Gobble Gobble

So I'm excited about Thanksgiving this year because we get to go to Dallas for a family reunion... well the family reunion is not my favorite part, but I do love getting to spend the holiday with family. Plus we will be doing some fun shopping and I'll get to see some good friends while we are up there! We leave on Wednesday and aren't coming back till Sunday so pray for our safe travels!

I'm hoping although we are having a catered meal that somewhere in there we will have my favorite family dishes... banana pudding, green beans and cheese, mashed potatoes...mmm.

I just want to share that if any of you know someone who has lost a family member or has a sick friend/relative to give them some extra encouragement and love this holiday. I work with some ladies who shared with me today that they don't get excited about holidays anymore because they are reminders of lost loved ones and loneliness. That broke my heart. I couldn't be more excited about holidays because of the happiness they represent, the get-to-gethers with friends, seeing family, the decorations, and of course the reason behind the season. I know that my grandpa died 2 years ago on Thanksgiving and I will always miss him, but its just a reminder of me to be extra thankful for the time I have left with my family and friends. Won't you be thankful and spread some love to those around you?

Its beginning to look alot like...

yes Christmas! My sister put up her Christmas tree a few weeks ago and we went to their house last night for a chill game night. I was inspired to put up my decorations as well! So this wonderful Saturday, while Robert has been playing with his new Super Mario Brothers Wii game I bought for his birthday (which is alot of fun to watch), I drug out all the Christmas boxes and assembled out tree. Its not decorated yet, but we'll save that for another day. So its starting to feel like the Christmas season in our home!
And if you are wondering why the Christmas cheer before Thanksgiving, well its family reunion year in Dallas so we will be gone for most of the Thanksgiving break which is usually when I put my tree up, so I'm just jumping the gun this year.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and stay healthy! I was unfortunately very sick all Thursday and most Friday and I hope no one else has to go through that... no fun!

A Checkerboard Cake

Robert turned 24 last week! To celebrate I designed a suprise party for him for all our family and friends (well enough that would fit in our town home). I've never done a surprise party for him, so I was nervous about it... but it went great and he jumped pretty high.

I made his birthday cake designed after a cake I saw on the show Cake Boss on TLC...

It's checkerboard!

It took me multiple secret hours and the help of my mom and another friend to get it put together, but it tasted so good! And it was huge... 4 cake layers high and covered with cream cheese icing... yum! Plus it was fun to see all our family together in our home!

Our Niece, A

Happy Birthday sweetie!

and Happy Birthday to my brother today who is 37... no wait... 27! Hope you enjoyed your dinner last night!

Spiced Pumpkin Butter

My mom subscribed to Better Homes and Gardens magazine for me some time ago... I love this magazine b/c not only does it have fun decorating ideas for the season, but it has great recipes like this one! I was a little nervous making this, but I decided who cares it will be great to have around all holiday season!

Spiced Pumpkin Butter

4 cups Pumpkin Puree (or 2 15 oz cans)
1 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
1/2 cup apple juice
2 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp. salt
chopped nuts (optional)

Mix all ingredients (except nuts) into large pan and heat to a boiling. Stir frequently for 25 minutes (or until thick). Ladle into jars or containers and freeze for up to 6 months or refrigerate for up to 1 week.

It makes alot, but I've found multiples things to add this to such as waffles, pancakes, toast, ritz crackers, any bread thing really, cornbread... possibilities are endless!

If you want to try some you can just come over for a free sample :)

Have a great week everyone and get ready for this Thankful holiday season!

Yes I'm just now getting Halloween pictures up... but I've been sooo busy! Anyway here are the pictures from hanging out in Greenwood and eating lots of candy!

That lollipop lasted the entire 2 hours of trick or treating we did... but the stickiness lasted longer than that.

Hope you all had a great weekend, I'll be posting another one soon!

A Mystery Dinner

So backup with me if you will to the night before Halloween and a fun mystery dinner party that my cousin and his wife put on at their house...

Murder at Deadwood Saloon

dun dun dun.... I know you can hear the corny music playing in your head right? Haha, our characters were the owners of the saloon, so of course we were expected to look pretty fancy. Well we went all out for this affair and rented costumes at a local costume shop (Costumes by Dorothy) and I think we looked pretty awesome!

The entire party... who do you think the murderer was?

And just so you know... that mustache looks great, but it was super glued (yes I said super glued) to his face. It left a nice red mark once he ripped it off :)

It was a blast! Everyone looked great and really did well playing their part in the mystery... I'll admit my acting skills are lacking severely, but none-the-less I had fun. And although I didn't win anything (I mean CLUE is my favorite board game so I thought for sure I had this in the bag) and I didn't pick out the real murdered, it was still worth getting all "dolled" up for.

We may have to host of these ourselves sometime!

I promise I'll get things updated on here, my next post will for sure explain why I've been so busy!

An Unwanted Visitor

There is a wasp in our bathroom.

You would think this was an easy problem to solve seeing as wasps are easy to spray and kill, but of course it gets more complicated...
This wasp has decided to take up residence behind the light fixture in the bathroom. There is plenty of room between the light bulbs and the frame for any creepy crawly/flying creature to invade. No telling how many are in there, but it could definitely be more than one. So taking showers in our house is a little frightening right now... well for me that is... and it doesn't help that I saw this flying visitor exit his hideaway and venture to the top of the skylight. Knowing my obsessive freakoutness, I closed the two doors leading to the shower room and stuffed towels under them so there would be no room for escape! And I'll be stocking up on wasp spray at the store after work.

At least its not a spider...I would have to shower downstairs if that was the case.

Happy Monday everyone!
And one month left to go!

A little Bet

So one of my coworkers used to live in Colorado and her family would always do a bet around Halloween...the bet was that it would or wouldn't freeze before Oct. 31st. So...even though she is no longer in Colorado doesn't mean that she couldn't have the same bet...
While we do live in warm Midland, TX where it hardly ever freezes or snows, it can happen and last week we had some very COLD days... call me dumb, but I trusted the weather men who insisted that the low was going to reach 31 degrees. So... she bet me that the temperature Thursday night would not reach freezing (below 33) and I said that it would and the loser would buy the winner a 6 pack of diet coke.

Thursday night came and went and the verdict was... 33 degrees.

Boo, I lost.

Just one more degree and I would be getting diet coke today and not giving it away! Oh well, thats just the fun of it. I wonder what we will bet on next :)

Happy Tuesday

A ladybug turns 1

My little niece, MB, turned one in October and we celebrated last weekend! She and her friends were all dressed up in costumes while we ate hot dogs, cake, candy, and watched her older brother open her presents :) She just likes the paper...
It was a fun affair and here are some pictures to capture the event!

The little Ladybug

Before her cake...

After her cake...

Robert and I got crafty for her gift and made her this cute bow holder!

Superman and his uncle

The cute kiddos

Little faces

A few weekends ago I helped babysit my niece and nephew to help my brother and sister out so they could get some last minute things done. It was a very fun Saturday morning filled with lots of laughter, Thomas the Train games, and building! Here are a few pictures I got to capture:

J and the tower we built that is as big as he is!
(He was so proud)

MB wasn't feeling well, but she didn't show it!

The three of us... and you can't tell but we are hiding under a blanket that we made into a fort in the living room... its so fun to see their imaginations!

Have a great rest of the week!

A Relaxing Moment

What could be better than a Hazlenut Latte and a warm bubble bath after a tiring Monday?...

Yeah I'm still thinking on that one too :)

We decided to trade our usual Tuesday night study dates for a Monday night trip to do some errands, a quick trip through Starbucks drive thru, and top it off with a little relaxation and some studying... ok so I watched tv after I finished my relaxing moment, but I did read some :)

How have you spent your Monday? Don't forget to take some time to relax during this upcoming Holiday busyness!

Broadway Review

Saturday night my parents went with Robert and I to a musical production put on by the Lee High School Choir. This would be the same choir Robert and I met each other in when we were in high school at Lee, so this brought back some good memories for us. In fact the program they were putting on was a collection of popular songs from Broadway plays (like Wicked and Chicago) and most of the songs were ones we had performed when we were in choir. We had seats towards the back of the auditorium, but it was a good thing since we were kinda singing along :) [plus my dad kept checking the score of the Tech/A&M game... Gig 'Em Ags!]
Overall it was a fun show, complete with dessert at intermission and Starbucks coffee. And one of my little cousins is a Junior in the choir, so it was good to see her perform. And I got to see some good friends!

Yay for Saturday nights!

p.s. it was also my niece's 1st birthday party so I'll get the pictures uploaded from that ASAP!

Half way there...

So this week will mark 8 weeks left till graduation! I'm super pumped and ready to enter the real world! I've been having fun working with kids the last 7 weeks and theres 7 weeks left with those little smiles... I just hope I can keep up the energy! There's lots of fun things happening around here in the fall so I can't wait to share! I'm especially excited to make fun holiday/fall recipes :) I'll share if they are good. Oh and today I ventured to try the Pumpkin Spice Frappaccino... I don't know why I've put off trying this holiday drink... but I tried today and its very enjoyable. You should try it too :) Have a great week everyone!

Dear Mr. Firealarm,

Why do you hate me so? I mind my time preparing delicious meals for my husband and you decide to make your presence known by beeping and screaming for no perfectly good reason. I was not burning anything... in fact I had just turned the oven on and you decide to squeal... causing a ruckus through my home and reducing me to smacking you with my wooden spoon. And you just couldn't stop there... beeping every 45 seconds for the next 10 minutes... as if you knew that would drive me crazy... so I ask you again, Mr. Firealarm... why do you hate me so?
Sincerely annoyed,

Song Repeaters Unite!

So tonight I went solo on my weekly night out study trip... Robert is feeling below the weather and had a meeting to go to... so I ventured to B&N to snuggle up with my PT book (ok so snuggle is not the right word)... I feel like I'm making pretty good headway with my studying although I definitely need to step it up a little more... good thing I have lots of coffee gift cards to give me motivation :) Although if B&N keeps running out of lemonade and therefore keeping me from getting my favorite cold drink... I will have to veto. Which brings me to an update on my current favs in the world of coffee and beverages:
-Fav Hot holiday drink: Chocolate Truffle... hot chocolate with a shot of espresso... its different and delicious!
-Fav Cold drink: Passion Iced Tea Lemonade... yum!
-An Always fav: Hazlenut Latte

On another note... a big thanks to my amazing friend Tracy for making me the most awesome mixed cd's for my birthday! I have been utilizing the repeat option on some of the songs over and over again... I'm surprised I'm not tired of the songs yet... and I hope that doesn't happen! The best songs I've been repeating- Lisztomania by Pheonix.... and Breathe by Anberlin

What songs do you keep on repeat?

Quarter of a Century

That's right... Tuesday I turned a quarter of a century old! (It's much more fun to say it that way than to add in the number). I remember when I was younger having fun planning a party, sending out invitations, and having all my friends and family surround a big cake waiting for me to blow out the candles... and then we get older and birthdays are less celebrated... how sad. I love birthdays... cards and cake and ice cream and friends and family... what not to celebrate!

So Tuesday Robert took me and my parents to Wall Street Bar & Grill b/c I've never been there... it was delicious! Afterwards we went to Starbucks (b/c my mom and I are avid coffee junkies) and I ended up getting my drink for free since we were striking up jokes with the guy taking our order. I was going to order my new favorite fall drink- a mocha truffle (hot chocolate with espresso in it)- but they ran out of their signature hot chocolate (sad face). So as an alternative the coffee guy offered to make me a surprise drink... I'm adventurous so I said ok. It was good! I have no idea how much syrup he put in there, but I enjoyed it and with my lemon pound cake slice it was delightful. All in all my birthday was fun! I've had a great first 25 years of my life and I'm ready to make the most of the next 25.

Friday, October 2, 2009

So this has been one of those weeks. I have officially reached the level of being so emotionally and physically drained that I can't even think straight anymore. I feel as though my cup has sprung a leak... not fun. And its funny that I'm feeling this way, b/c this week has had some great moments in it! Running into some old friends, spending some great time with Robert, getting some good study time out of the way, and playing with some fun kids... plus Robert, I and a friend are heading out to dinner tonight at a new place we've never been too. But amongst the joys my energy has just been depleted (and no I'm not getting sick). As much as this would usually beat me down, I listened to a song today on my way home from work that just screamed "Hosanna, Hosanna! Hosanna in the highest!" and I was shouting it in my car all the way home. It was so uplifting to me to forget about everything and just focus on my Heavenly Father (and the road) that I kept hitting the replay button. So regardless if you are having a hard week or not, take comfort in Christ... and sing a song as loud as you can... it will lift your spirits for sure.

Have a great and safe weekend everyone.

What will we be doing... just staying at home! Come by and visit if you would like!

Tuesday Date Nights

Robert and I have been enjoying some lovely Tuesday night evenings together the last few weeks. I just love getting texts from him at work that say "will you go out on a date with me tonight?"... isn't he so sweet! But Tuesdays have become the one night a week that we both dedicate to studying together over coffee- he studies his lesson for the wednesday night youth meeting and I study for school (b/c yes I'm still tied down by the chains of academics until I take the licensure test in Jan or Feb). I just love Tuesdays :) Especially becuase they remind me of when Robert and I were dating... you know the whole making eyes at each other, giggling together, and stealing sweet kisses... these are the memories I look forward to each week. So survive through the Mondays and rejoice for Tuesdays or whatever day is special for you... and if you dread all days I recommend you try to find at least one night to do something special.

Happy Tuesdays everyone!

I love Game Nights!

I think one of mine and Robert's favorite past-times has been game nights. Call us the social butterflies or whatever, but we love to have people over or just be anywhere people are playing games! This weekend we got to enjoy 2... yes not 1... 2 game nights!

Friday night we went over to my parents house with lots of family and played multiple hours of games... I mean we were over there till after midnight and we started at 6 o'clock! The fun never ends... and not to mention that my competitive side comes out when we play pictionary (my team won :) and CLUE (the best game ever invented! Even though I didn't win). My sister-in-law and I even decided to sport the side-ponytail because our hair is long enough to pull it off.
Then Saturday night we had our youth group over to partake in another round of exciting games, although this time it was at our house and consisted of alot of Wii games, football, skateboarding, monopoly, and tons of FOOD! We were a little worried at first about feeding hungry teenagers, but then one of them brought over 4 pizzas from Dino's Pizza... yum... and the rest of them poured in with a multitude of snack time treats. We had enough to feed a football team! Regardless of the mountain of snacks, it was a great bonding time for everyone and I know we heard some people admit to having a good time. Can't wait to do it again!

What is your favorite board game?

Here Comes A Cold Front!

I'm excited for some colder weather that is on its way right now! I hate really cold weather, but the 70's and 60's are my favorite. Plus, colder weather just puts me in the mood for my favorite warm coffee drinks (hazlenut late and hazlenut hot chocolate and caramel macchiatto... yummm!). But first I'm going on a walk with my dad tonight... just daddy-daughter time... I love my relationship with my dad and its so great that we live about 1/4 mile away from each other.

And just for fun, here are some pictures from a weekend trip we took in August for one of my classmates weddings in San Angelo... I got to have some awesome fun with some great girls... and a very handsome man :) Hope you all have a great week!

Oh how I love him :)

My PT girls!

Happy Faces

Robert and I have gotten to spend some great moments with family the last few weeks and I wanted to share some very pretty smiling faces with you:

MB is getting so big!

J was playing lawn darts

Me and M and A... and you will notice something odd in the background...some creepy guy in the tree, we couldn't figure out what he was doing, but he made it in the picture...

The three sister-in-laws

I tried to get the girls spinning in front of the sign...

I just love getting to see these kids grow up and I'm proud to say we will be welcoming in a new nephew in December!

Tonight Robert is watching a football game with some guys from church and I am hitting up the chick flicks, kettle corn, and my PT books (yes I do have some studying I have to do sadly... it has been much neglected). Hope you are having a great Saturday night!

Tortilla Time!

Sunday evening our church had a wonderful Mexican Celebration! In case you didn't know, our church is bilingual...we have one service in English and another service in Spanish, then every few weeks we have a joint service... it is awesome!! I love getting to see two different cultures and languages come together worshiping the Lord, plus I expand on my limited Spanish knowledge every Sunday :) So for our Mexican Celebration one of the ladies in the church taught my sister-in-law and I how to make homemade tortillas... can I say YUM! It was super fun too, especially because we didn't use any measuring cups or anything (its better that way!). And we got an "A" rating from the rest of the church crew, so that was a nice feeling.
To top it off, tonight my parents came over for dinner and I decided to use my new talent to make tortillas for them so we could have fajitas. I think I'll get better everytime, but they were mighty tasty! If you would like to learn I would love to teach!! Hope you all enjoy your week everyone!

Time of my life

Ok blogging world... I was recently informed that I have been very lacking in my postings and I sincerely apologize! (thanks body-buddy!) The reasons for my absence are nothing, but smiles... I've been having the time of my life! Besides the fact that we now only have one computer between the two of us... which may not seem like a big deal to some people, but for two very independent computer happy people this is a problem... but besides that slowing down my occasional posts Robert and I have been having alot of fun! We've been quite busy, but the good news is I have lots of pictures of our adventures. I can't remember if I wrote this or not, but Robert and I have become the youth pastors at our church...and we have some great teens! We've had some experiences already and I'm so glad that God has lead us to this position in this church b/c not only was the church in need of someone to fill this position, but its been good for my heart. Those kids have so much heart and I can't wait to share with you more of our journey in this area... pray for us!
Also, we had a garage sale to release some things from our possession... and to signify our official new beginning... in a new place, together. I know I bring this up alot, but multiple (like 7) years apart on and off really takes its toll on a relationship... but we've been taking advantage of this new beginning and discovering all over why we love each other and how God has blessed us beyond belief! For instance, tonight I accompanied Robert back up to the "shop" (his workplace, its eaiser to say this than the real name) so he could finish some work things... we made it a date really because we were laughing the whole way up there, most of the time we were there, and the whole trip back. I just love his sense of humor and that we can be completely silly with each other and its just perfect.
So sorry for my forgetfulness to snatch the computer from Rob and post, but I promise some exciting new things are coming and we're just going to keep exploring our world of happy bliss :)

When I think of Fall...

One of my friends who is oh-so creative and artsy, has for this week started a Fall Inspiration Blog
She will be posting some of her favorite things about fall in this blog and she asked us to join her in sharing our favorite fall moments. As you should know from reading my blog, I LOVE FALL! It has to be the best season ever! And to share some of my favorite fall things I will use pictures from memories past...

Fall makes me think of...

1. Leaves- especially crunchy ones just waiting to be stomped on! (I didn't take this picture although I would like to go there!)

2. Bundling up and cuddling with someone special :)

3. Aggie Football! Well football in general (I'll throw in the Cowboys for Robert)... and the Aggies may not always win, but if you've ever been to Kyle Field you should know...we do the football thing well!

4. Friends! Fall means holidays and times to get together with all the amazing friends I've met in my life... shown here is one special girl I miss alot and the one who shared highly in my love for all things Fall (love ya Tracy)

5. When I got my Aggie Ring- I love this picture and had to throw it in there!

6. When I got engaged! Robert asked me to marry him on Nov. 19th 2005... it was a beautiful fall evening and I had no idea he was about to get on one knee and slide a ring on my finger... those memories I will never forget

7. Going for an evening run in a park and enjoying the beauty of the sky God made

8. A time to give thanks for my God, my family, and my friends

9. My birthday! Naturally the celebration of my birth would come in the best holiday (and would coincidentally be my favorite number on this list :)

10. Halloween! Although I don't really celebrate this holiday...I find it amusing to come up with fun costume ideas with Robert and to see my cute nieces and nephew all dressed up... plus I like candy corn

11. I have no picture on this computer, but fall also reminds me of my grandpa who died Thanksgiving day in 2007... he will always be missed and I'm so thankful for his life

12. And of course fall colors... orange is not in my favorites for colors, but the brilliant golds and ambers that are created by the turning of the leaves is beyond beautiful and reminds me that only God could paint such a breath taking canvas.

I know its nothing special, but I love to think about this upcoming season and the exciting things it reminds me of. Feel free to share your favorite fall memories/moments!
